Blakey,Art&Jazz Messengers – Strasbourg 82 – 2 CD
Strasbourg 82 captures Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers during the band’s 1980s period. Blakey was renowned for using the Jazz Messengers as a platform for younger musicians, and this era paired technically accomplished new players with the hard bop language the group had helped define in earlier decades.
