Afgelopen juni braken DeWolff en Record Industry het wereldrecord Studio-to-store, wat resulteerde in een live-opname van Rosita Rapida. De limited edition was binnen no-time uitverkocht, maar samen met Vinylkey wisten ze deze naar een nieuwe realiteit te krijgen: een geverifieerde vinyl onchain.
Wat is een vinylsleutel?
Vinylkey® is een vinylplaat geperst met een uniek visueel patroon en een ingebedde NFC-computertag. Als je je telefoon gebruikt om op de plaat te tikken, zoals bij tikken om te betalen, worden het bewijs van authenticiteit en het eigendomsbewijs weergegeven. Het is een album onchain! Eigenaars van Vinylkey-albums kunnen ook extra, exclusieve inhoud en ervaringen ontgrendelen die niet beschikbaar zijn op standaard vinylplaten. Bovendien kunnen artiesten en platenlabels – voor het eerst ooit – passief royalty’s innen telkens wanneer het eigendom van een Vinylkey-album wordt verkocht en overgedragen op de secundaire markt.

What is a Vinylkey?
Vinylkey® is a vinyl record pressed with a unique visual pattern and an embedded NFC computer tag. Using your phone to tap the record, like doing tap to pay, will display the proof of authenticity and proof of ownership. It’s an album onchain! Owners of vinylkey albums can also unlock additional, exclusive content and experiences unavailable on standard vinyl records. Additionally, artists and record labels are able – for the first time ever – to passively collect royalties each time ownership of a Vinylkey album is sold and transferred on the secondary market.
