Route to the Outer Side comes from Italy’s Into Darkness, a band active since 2011 and led from the beginning by vocalist and guitarist Doomed Warrior. Their sound draws strongly from old-school Dutch death metal, with influences including early Asphyx and Soulburn, Pentacle, Sinister, Gorefest, Dead Head, Phlebotomized, Acrostichon and Thanatos.

What sets the band apart is its lyrical focus on real astronomy rather than astrology, science fiction or Lovecraftian themes.
