Kingfisher Sky – Technicoloured Eyes
On this fourth studio album Technicoloured Eyes, the Dutch prog/symphonic band Kingfisher Sky sounds more varied than ever – both in terms of music and vocals – without losing sight of its own instantly recognizable sound. On the previous album Arms Of Morpheus from 2014, the six-piece band already opened the door wide for pop, classical, progressive rock and world music (Irish folk and Eastern influences).
The six-piece band debuted in 2007 with the overwhelming album Hallway Of Dreams and then released Skin Of The Earth (2010) and Arms Of Morpheus (2014). Singer Judith: “We love so many types of music: rock, metal, symphonic, prog, folk, world, pop and classical. Concretely, you can think of Heart, Clannad, Tori Amos, Kate Bush, Peter Gabriel, Mike Oldfield and Pink Floyd on the one hand – and prog rock like Porcupine Tree on the other. I’m also crazy about soul! I think you can hear that on the new album as well.”
