Klaus Schulze – Richard Wahnfried’s Tonwelle (LP)

Klaus Schulze – Richard Wahnfried’s Tonwelle is a mesmerizing blend of electronic krautrock and cosmic experimentation , originally released in 1981 under Schulze’s collaborative alias Richard Wahnfried . Pressed on vinyl and reissued by MIG, this cult classic fuses hypnotic sequencer-driven soundscapes with soaring guitar leads and rhythmic grooves.
Featuring legendary guitarist Manuel Göttsching (Ash Ra Tempel) and drummer Michael Shrieve (Santana), Tonwelle is a masterclass in atmosphere and analog textures — balancing Schulze’s signature Berlin School electronics with an almost rock-like momentum. It’s a deeply immersive and transportive record that continues to influence electronic and ambient artists to this day.
Essential for collectors of vintage synth, krautrock, and progressive electronic music.
