It is the sound of five people, who are searching for their musical boundaries and go beyond them. Monomyth drags you into another world, a place that feels both new and familiar. With the third album Exo, Monomyth completes its own epic trilogy and sets foot on land again. The concept, as it was introduced on S/T and Further, gets an exciting sequel here. The main theme of Exo is the discovery and mapping of a completely new area, with a few interesting surprises for the attentive listener. Once again, the technical possibilities are fully utilized, both in the music and in the story behind the record. The now very recognizable Monomyth style seeps through richly in the five new tracks, but the band also experiments with new elements. In addition to ambient, prog, kraut and space rock, there is also soul, dance and even unadulterated hard rock to be heard. All of this is doused with the production of Pieter Kloos, who manages to give the sound of Monomyth even more depth. Clear, transparent and trance-inducing.
