Susto Stringband (Volume 2) reimagines songs from Justin Osborne’s SUSTO catalogue through a traditional string-band lens. Osborne has performed as SUSTO since 2013, developing an alt-rock vision rooted in gospel, bluegrass and folk.
The Stringband project grew from an open-mic encounter in Asheville with vocalist Clint Roberts, clawhammer banjoist Helena Rose and upright bassist Joey Brown, now known as Holler Choir. Familiar SUSTO songs including Hard Drugs and Diamond’s Icaro receive richly textured new arrangements.
