Scarlet Stories – Necrologies

Scarlet Stories is a relatively young band with the ability to produce extremely well-thought-out progressive metal. They became known for their unique dark progressive music with an eclectic range of musical influences, such as heavy metal, ambient and doom. They are destined to become forerunners in the revival of heavy progressive music alongside bands like KLONE and Gojira.

Singer Lisette van den Berg: “’Necrologies’ is an ode to all animals and people who have suffered or died because of the greed of others. It is an acknowledgement of their struggle, pain or innocence. The songs tell about their suffering or their cause of death. They show the dark side of humanity and are about emotions, injustice, murder but also about beauty. Written to make you think and performed dramatically live. One moment fragile and quiet, the next moment intense and raw.”

‘Necrologies’ was recorded with musician-producer-sound engineer Joost van den Broek (including Kovacs, EPICA, Ayreon, Powerwolf, Navarone, VUUR) and made possible by crowdfunding, Voordekunst, Kunstloc Brabant, Provincie Noord-Brabant and Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds.

Singer and songwriter Lisette van den Berg appeared on the Ayreon albums ‘The Source’ and live shows ‘The Theatre Equation’ and ‘Ayreon Universe’.
